Earth Guardians is a movement of dynamic young people, that campaigns for the conservation of biodiversity, the preservation, the protection of the environment, and the fight against climate deregulation.
Here in Benin, we observed that the household population of the Cotonou lagoon bank pollutes this bank by throwing plastic bags into the water.
An act that is not without consequences on fish production.
As you can see in the picture, we decided to go to these households to collect the plastic bags and make them aware of a change in behavior.
Thus in 90 days of action, we collected around 3035 plastic bags. That is approximately 252 bags every Saturday. The number of people impacted by this project can be estimated at 1650. This project will help reduce the amount of bags in our waters.
Protecting the environment means preserving our survival and the future of humanity.
